Cynthia Montaño Chala

Cynthia Montaño is an Afro-Colombian singer, songwriter, poet, cultural manager and social communicator. In 2008 she formed her musical project “Cynthia Montaño” currently made up of 8 musicians; which is based on the fusion of urban and folk rhythms such as rap, dancehall, reggae, rock, funk, Afrobeat, salsa, with the folk music of the Colombian Pacific. He has collaborated with internationally recognized artists such as Carlos Vives in the song “Déjame Quererte” winner of the Nuestra Tierra 2020 awards and in the album “Vives” winner of Latin Grammy 2018. Also in the album “Lo Que Trajo el Barco” by José Aguirre, current producer and musical director of the group Niche and the Cali Salsa Big Band. In her discography are the albums La Fábula (2023), Ideas (2015), the EP Cynthia Montaño “Live Session” (2019), Urbano Litoral (2011), and the singles “Lo que me Hace Feliz” feat Carlos Vives and Mikea Mada (2023), To Walk (2023), Your Melody (2023), Stormy Night (2022), I Have, You Have (2022), ¿Where Will You Be Freedom? (2021). She has participated in events and festivals such as AMA Academy Colombia - Embassy of the United States-2023), Voces de Mujeres (Min cultura- Bogotá 2023), Cali Fair 2022, Petronio Álvarez Pacific Music Festival 2022, Delirio (guest artist) , “Campaign Liberator” tour by Carlos Vives 2018 (guest artist), Estéreo Picnic 2018, Rock al Parque 2016, Oktober Fest Bogotá, Medellín and Cali 2016, “Breathe Peace” tour by the UN (United Nations Organization), Gran International Night of the Pacific Music Festival “Petronio Álvarez" 2009, XXIX Pacific Folk Festival - Buenaventura, Hipnotik Festival - Barcelona España among others.
