About BOmm

What is BOmm?

BOmm is a promotion and showcase platform organized by the CCB-Chamber of Commerce of Bogota as part of its support program to Creative and Cultural Industries. It is a space designed for musicians, composers, producers, agencies, entrepreneurs, brands, record companies and music publishing companies to discover new business opportunities and to learn about the latest trends in the music industry.

It offers Colombian musicians an opportunity to present their productions, musical compositions or live performances to brands, national and international music publishers as well as to world class circuits and festivals.

It becomes a promotion platform and a professional updating space, to do networking, reach agreements, create partnerships and do business around the music industry. This is a 4 day event and one of those days will be dedicated to academic lectures with top-level guest speakers who have a long record of accomplishment in the music industry. Two days will be dedicated to business meetings among participants and one day will be devoted to workshops.

Participating is free and the selection of candidates will be done through an open call with and independent curatorship.

BOmm is part of the Chamber´s strategy, which for 13 years has been committed to the cultural and creative industries for their economic contribution to the City – Region.

This strategy provides support to entrepreneurs and business owners of these sectors from three forefronts: Consulting for business strengthening, improvement of the competitive environment through cluster initiatives and circulation and business platforms as the one in ARTBO Fair , Bogotá Audiovisual Market  BAM , BOmm , Bogotá Fashion Week - BFW and Gastrofest . In this context today we have a Music Cluster Initiative aimed at appointing Bogota as UNESCO´s Music City and particularly at increasing this sector´s competitiveness in the City-Region.

BOmm will be held this year on September 11 to 15, 2023

Where?

BOmm 2023 will carry out its activities in both virtual and presential formats in the city of Bogota.

What will you find there?

This year´s BOmm edition will have the following components:

BOmm Talks	Academic space where outstanding international professionals of the sector will share their experiences, knowledge and predictions about the music industry.
Showcases	Live performances of artists and bands selected by the curators.
Ruedas de negocios	Speed-networking space where entrepreneurs and artists, who were selected by curators to participate, will meet to do business, broaden their database of contacts, meet business owners who dedicate themselves to the same type of business and establish strategic alliances of different kinds.
BOmm Labs	Space for roundtables and workshops with local industry leaders addressing topics such as: Music journalism (what a musician must know to communicate with a journalist), crowdfunding for music and management, among others.
